The 9th Biennial Adoption Initiative Conference was inspiring, as always. Convening at Montclair State University, Montclair, New Jersey, June 9 – 11th, the tireless research of keynoters and presenters addressed critical issues affecting the adoption community through a multidisciplinary structure from a multicultural and multiethnic perspective. My workshop with Beth Hall, Executive Director of Pact, an Adoption Alliance was entitled “Ripped from the Headlines: Getting Real About Race in Transracial Families.” It was gratifying to connect with our diverse community.
